'How Did We Get Here?' follows a complicated love affair between childhood sweethearts Dewale and Imani. Dewale, a talented musician, is in the honeymoon stage of a relationship with a fellow artist, while Imani is in the corporate world and engaged. They stumble across each other 5 years after their relationship had ended post-university, and very quickly discover their feelings have yet to subside.

Told in reverse order, the story explores the emotional and psychological effect of affairs and the depths a person will go to experience true love again.

Imani and Dewale’s decisiveness is tested when they come to the realization that they may not be able to let each other go.

30 minutes earlier, Dewale and his girlfriend Michelle host a late dinner for Imani and her fiancé Damien; can they withstand the tension?

Episode 3 - Mutual

Three weeks earlier, Imani decides to call Dewale to finally tell him how she feels. Will Dewale be prepared to listen?

Episode 4 - Good Morning

One month earlier, Imani and Dewale try to make sense of what happened the night before.

Episode 5 - The Beginning

A month and a day earlier, old sweethearts Imani and Dewale, run into each other after 5 years apart and try to fill in the gaps.
